NEW YORK, NY – In recognition of their commitment to improving healthcare through technology, the New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC) honored healthcare trailblazers Michael Dowling, President and CEO of Northwell Health, Linda Lambert, CAE, Executive Director of the New York State Chapter of the American College of Physicians, and Drs. Roy and Ido Schoenberg, co-CEOs of a leading U.S. telehealth platform, American Well.
The honorees were recognized on Tuesday, November 27th at NYeC’s seventh annual Gala & Awards in New York City. Hosted by the organization’s Board of Directors, the awards honor leaders whose vision and extraordinary accomplishments have transformed healthcare across New York State and beyond. Dr. Max Gomez, Senior Medical Correspondent at CBS News, served as the event’s Master of Ceremonies.
“In their work with patients and providers across the continuum, these individuals intricately understand how technology is improving healthcare today and how it can solve so many issues on the horizon,” said NYeC Executive Director Valerie Grey. “New Yorkers are already seeing better care with the adoption of health information exchange, and these healthcare leaders have helped pave the way for future improvements and innovations.”
“NYeC’s honorees represent the tireless work being done across the industry to ensure our medical professionals and their patients benefit from advances in health information technology,” said David Klein, Chair of the NYeC Board of Directors and Special Advisor to the CEO of the University of Rochester Medical Center. “On behalf of the board and the millions of New Yorkers the SHIN-NY serves, I congratulate and thank these recipients for their dedication.”
Mr. Dowling received NYeC’s Transformative Leadership Award for guiding world-class clinical care, innovation, and research at Northwell Health and his decades of commitment to high-performing healthcare advancement in both the private and public sectors.
“This award is very meaningful because the New York eHealth Collaborative focuses on pairing healthcare organizations together,” said Michael Dowling, President and CEO of Northwell Health. “NYeC understands the importance of interoperability and making all data accessible to clinicians regardless of where patients receive their care.”
NYeC also honored Linda A. Lambert, CAE for more than 40 years of dedication to New York’s physicians through representation, advocacy, education, engagement, and a focus on quality improvement and patient safety.
“It’s an honor to receive this award and be recognized by NYeC,” said Linda Lambert, Executive Director of the New York State Chapter of the American College of Physicians. “For more than a decade, we have seen the increasing value of technology and its impact on healthcare delivery. I’m proud of my work with NYeC and the numerous partners and physicians around the state that have helped to move healthcare forward and improve patient care.”
American Well’s Co-Founders and CEOs Drs. Roy and Ido Schoenberg were honored for their lengthy track record of successfully leading health technology companies, overseeing a national telehealth company that delivers services to more than 100 million Americans, and for their broader vision and landmark innovation, fueling today’s adoption of telehealth as the powerful digital arm of modern care delivery.
“We’re honored to be recognized by the New York eHealth Collaborative,” said Ido Schoenberg, MD, CEO at American Well. “We believe digital care delivery will transform healthcare. It’s American Well’s mission to connect and enable providers, insurers, patients, and innovators to deliver greater access to more affordable, higher quality care.”
