Our senior leadership team consists of some of the brightest minds in the industry, bringing together an extensive operational experience in healthcare, technology and services.

Ido Schoenberg, M.D.
Ido Schoenberg serves as the Chairman and CEO of Amwell and oversees the company’s corporate strategy. Since co-founding the company in 2006, with Roy Schoenberg, Ido has led its strategic direction, growing Amwell to become one of the largest digital care enablement companies in the world. Ido has a lengthy track record of successfully leading technology companies in the healthcare field. In 1996, together with Phyllis Gotlib, he co-founded iMDSoft, a provider of enterprise software that automates hospital critical care units. He grew the company into a market leader with a large multi-national install base in the U.S., Europe, and East Asia. In 2001, Ido joined CareKey Inc. as Chief Executive Officer and took the company through its acquisition by the TriZetto group. Ido served as TriZetto’s Chief Business Strategy Officer until his departure in the summer of 2006. Ido received his MD from the Sackler School of Medicine.

Roy Schoenberg is Amwell's President and Chief Executive Officer. Since co-founding the company with his brother, Ido, in 2006 and taking it public in 2021, Amwell has become one of the world’s largest digital networks, helping patients, clinicians and payers welcome a new world of tech-enabled healthcare.
Outside of Amwell, Roy is on the advisory board of the MIT Sloan Health Initiative, Brigham and Women’s Hospital Center for Patient Safety Research and Practice, the American Heart Association Telehealth board, and Modern Healthcare has repeatedly recognized him as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare. Roy is a former American Telemedicine Association board member, and the organization has recognized him for his industry leadership. He continues to see innovation in digital care as his calling, holding more than 50 U.S.-issued patents in this domain.
Roy holds an M.D. from The Hebrew University and an M.P.H. from Harvard. He lives in Boston with his wife and two children.

Phyllis Gotlib
President, Amwell International
Phyllis Gotlib
Phyllis Gotlib leads Amwell’s international operations. Prior to joining Amwell, Phyllis was Executive Partner at Flare Capital. She also served as co-founder and CEO of iMDsoft, a disruptive clinical information technology company that created innovative, market-leading solutions to streamline and optimize hospitals’ high-acuity care. Phyllis led iMDsoft from inception through its exponential international growth and ultimately to its acquisition by TPG Growth in 2012. Prior to iMDsoft, she founded PS Gluck, a lucrative diamond trade company which she managed for many years with her partner in the Israeli Diamond Exchange (IDE). After her departure from PS Gluck, Phyllis joined Tactic Capital Markets (TCM), a boutique investment firm, as a managing partner. At TCM, Phyllis began to focus on healthcare investments. In addition to her business ventures, Phyllis is an active philanthropist and social activist. She holds leadership roles on various not for profit organizations including Zahal Disabled Veterans Organization (ZDVO) and the Israel American Council (IAC). Phyllis works closely with Flare Capital’s entrepreneurs, providing deep healthcare technology insights and experience to support portfolio companies to become market leaders.

Bradford Gay
SVP and General Counsel
Bradford Gay
Since 2013, Brad Gay has served as Amwell’s Senior Vice President & General Counsel, with responsibility for the Company’s legal & regulatory affairs. In 2013, he was also appointed Secretary of NTN, a telehealth physician management company founded as a joint venture between Amwell and Anthem. Prior to joining Amwell, Brad was a member of the legal team at Dell EMC where he managed an international legal team dedicated to supporting a business unit with annual revenues of approximately $1 billion. In that position, Brad also managed a team of risk and compliance professionals tasked with ensuring the business unit’s regulatory compliance. While at EMC, Brad also held roles supporting the corporate development team on mergers & acquisitions, equity investments, technology transfers and other strategic licensing and go‑to‑market partnerships. Earlier in his career, Brad worked as a corporate transactional attorney at the international law firm Bingham McCutchen LLP, where he specialized in securities offerings, SEC compliance, mergers, financings and corporate governance matters. Brad holds a JD from Duke University School of Law and a BA from Middlebury College. He is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts.

Kurt Knight
Chief Operating Officer
Kurt Knight
Kurt Knight is Amwell’s Chief Operating Officer. In his role, he oversees Amwell’s operational, clinical and administrative functions.
Before being named to his current position, Kurt held other leadership roles with Amwell, including Senior Vice President of Business Operations, General Manager of Clinical Services and Senior Vice President of Corporate Development.
Previously, Kurt was a project leader for Boston Consulting Group, guiding strategic and operational initiatives for healthcare enterprises. Before that, he worked for Hillrom leading the go-to-market strategy for new products in home care. Earlier in his career, he worked on various global public health initiatives with organizations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Save the Children and UNICEF.
Kurt is on the board of The Clinic by Cleveland Clinic. He earned an M.B.A. from Harvard University and an M.P.H. from Columbia University. He has a B.A. in Economics from Brigham Young University.

Robert Shepardson

Robert Shepardson
Robert Shepardson is Chief Financial Officer of Amwell and oversees the financial aspects of the company. He joined Amwell in November 2021 from Morgan Stanley, where he held various leadership roles in Global Capital Markets and in Media and Communications Investment Banking. Most recently, Mr. Shepardson held the position of Managing Director in Global Capital Markets with responsibility for all equity issuance in the Healthcare sector. Mr. Shepardson serves as Treasurer on the board of The Alliance for Positive Change, an organization focused on transforming the lives of New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Princeton University and earned his Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

Kathy Weiler
EVP, Chief Commercial and Growth Officer
Kathy Weiler
Kathy Weiler is Amwell’s Executive Vice President, Chief Commercial and Growth Officer. In her role, she oversees the company’s growth strategy, driving strategic initiatives and leading business development, sales and account management, commercial enablement, marketing, and strategic and channel partnership teams.
Prior to Amwell, Kathy served as Chief Consumer Officer at Optum, where she led consumerism across the enterprise. Preceding that, she was Chief Consumer Strategy Officer at UnitedHealth Group and the Chief Marketing and Experience Officer of Optum Health, leading marketing efforts for Optum Care and Optum’s Population Health Solutions, Complex Care Management, Medical Benefits Management, Behavioral Health, Prevention and Financial Services businesses. Kathy also served as Chief Marketing, Product and Digital Officer at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts, where she drove strategic growth and retention business objectives.
Kathy holds a B.A. from Bowdoin College and an M.A. in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis University.

Tim Conway

Tim Conway
Tim Conway serves as Amwell’s Chief Information Officer, where he is responsible for technology strategy and operations; along with information security. Tim brings over 25 years of technology leadership experience and has led large scale digital transformation efforts for industry‑leading companies including Salesforce, Hartford Financial, and Sapient. Tim received his Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Babson College. Tim resides in Longmeadow, MA with his wife and daughter.

Murray Brozinsky
Chief Strategy Officer
Murray Brozinsky
Murray Brozinsky serves as Amwell’s Chief Strategy Officer. He joined via the acquisition of Conversa Health (now Amwell Automated Care), where he was CEO. Under Murray’s leadership, Conversa was honored as Best Remote Diagnostics Company at the Digital Health Hub Foundation Awards, Leading AI-Chatbot for Self-Triage by CBInsights, Best Patient Engagement Solution by Forrester, and landed on the Inc. 5000 list. Murray was named one of the Top 50 Healthcare Technology CEOs by Technology Innovators Magazine in 2022 and 2021. Prior to Conversa, Murray co-founded Talix, a leading healthcare risk adjustment software company (acquired by Edifecs), served as CSO of Healthline, which he sold to Summit Partners (it’s now part of RVO Health), and held executive positions at several pioneering technology companies. Murray has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and an MS in Engineering from the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science at Northwestern University, as well as a BS in Finance from the Wharton School and a BA in Philosophy from the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also an award-winning playwright.

Ken Cahill
Chief Behavioral Health Officer
Ken Cahill
Ken Cahill is Amwell’s Chief Behavioral Health Officer. Ken comes to Amwell through the recent acquisition of SilverCloud Health where he was CEO and co-founder. Ken has grown SilverCloud over the past decade from spinning out of research in 2012 to, prior to the acquisition, having delivered mental health support to over 1 million patients/ services users and powering over 500 of the largest healthcare organizations across North America, the UK, Australia, and Europe. Prior to founding SilverCloud Health, Ken held senior positions in several multinationals including, Dell, HP, and Gateway. Ken has received a number of awards, including the 2018 MedTech Boston 40 under 40 award. He is a chartered Board Director and holds a BSc. Degree in Computing, and Diploma in new business.

Amber Howe
Chief People Officer
Amber Howe
Amber Howe is the Chief People Officer at Amwell, where she is responsible for leading and driving people strategies to support the organization’s business priorities. Amber also oversees Amwell’s human resources department, where her team supports all aspects of HR including talent and organizational development, training, culture, recruiting, and total rewards. Prior to joining Amwell, Amber was EVP, Chief Human Resources Officer at Beacon Health Options, where she served as the company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, leading HR transformation efforts and supporting people strategy. Prior to Beacon Health Options, Amber held senior HR leadership roles at Santander Bank, TD Bank and Citizens Bank. Her significant accomplishments extend beyond traditional HR competencies, and include achievements in areas of employee performance, training, retention, culture strength and recruiting. Amber received her Bachelors in Social Work from Calvin University, and her Masters of Public Administration from Grand Valley State University.

Matthew McAllister
Chief Product Officer
Matthew McAllister
Matthew McAllister is Amwell’s Chief Product Officer. In this role, he leads the company’s strategic product direction, definition and development, user experience design, research, and product analytics.
Previously, he was Director of product management, software development and user experience design at Amazon. During his nearly 13 years with the company, he led the definition, development and worldwide launch of new Amazon Prime member benefits, fast and convenient delivery options, global shopping tools, and self-service automated technology solutions for Amazon third-party sellers.
Earlier in his career, Matthew held leadership roles in product development at companies such as Sears Holdings Corp. and Circuit City Stores, Inc., guiding the creation, implementation and evolution of global software products and strategic initiatives that addressed critical customer needs.
Matthew has an M.B.A. from Southern New Hampshire University and a B.S. in Marketing from Johnson and Wales University.

Vaughn Paunovich
EVP, Enterprise Platforms
Vaughn Paunovich
Vaughn Paunovich is Amwell’s Executive Vice President of Enterprise Platforms. In this role, he leads end-to-end product management, engineering and technology.
Previously, Vaughn was with UnitedHealth Group as Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Emerging Businesses for OptumLabs. In this role, he led transformation efforts and the creation of breakthrough, integrated digital experiences. He also served as the Chief Information Officer for OptumHealth and OptumCare and as the company’s Vice President of Consumer Product Development. Before joining UnitedHealth, Vaughn held senior leadership roles and guided large-scale technology initiatives for Travelers, Wachovia Bank, Bank of America and GE.
Vaughn has his B.S. in International Finance from the University at Albany, SUNY.
