“Utilizing various technologies, such as that provided by American Well, is just one more example of our commitment to improving the health of the populations who entrust their care to our Network,” said Mark D. Sparta, executive vice president and chief population health officer of the Hackensack University Health Network. “Our ConvenientCare Now by Hackensack University Health Network greatly expands upon our already-established continuum of care, offering a convenient, accessible, patient-centered solution for non-emergent healthcare.”
American Well is a telehealth software and services company that partners with the nation’s top health systems and health plans, major employers and more than 25 million covered Americans. American Well’s consumer service, Amwell, connects people with board-certified doctors, registered dietitians and psychotherapists for video visits via smartphone, tablet, kiosk, phone or desktop.
“Patient- and family-centered care is core to Hackensack’s mission. With telehealth, Hackensack now has the ability to extend their reach further into the community and deliver high-quality care wherever their patients may be. As the first major health system in New Jersey to offer telehealth, they are forward-thinking in providing a convenient alternative to in-hospital care that will strengthen – not diminish – the trusted relationship between providers and their patients,” said Danielle Russella, President, Customer Solutions, American Well. “We are proud to partner with such a highly regarded medical network to advance the delivery of healthcare through technology.”
“Telehealth represents a new frontier in medicine—virtually connecting patients directly with providers in real-time. ConvenientCare Now by Hackensack University Health Network is more convenient, affordable and efficient for patients. We look forward to providing an exceptional telehealth experience through this partnership with American Well,” added Garrett.
