Bon Secours Launches Bon Secours 24/7™

Convenient Virtual Visits Now Available

(Marriottsville, MD) January 19, 2016—Bon Secours Health System, Inc. (BSHSI) is pleased to announce the launch of Bon Secours 24/7™, a custom platform for virtual visits for its employees and residents served by Bon Secours facilities nationwide.

“Bon Secours recognizes that people are increasingly engaged in their own health care and seek convenience, affordability, and reliability. A 24/7 telehealth platform for non-urgent office visits for community residents and our employees is essential to help meet those changing expectations,” says Richard Statuto, BSHSI’s chief executive officer.

BSHSI partnered with American Well to develop Bon Secours 24/7™ platform. The Bon Secours 24/7™ virtual visit service will allow users to tap an app to connect within minutes with a Bon Secours medical provider via a mobile device or tablet or log into a secure website from their computer. BSHSI launched the service to its employees nationwide earlier this month and is now offering the service in Virginia. The service will be rolled out to additional states in the next few months.

“We believe telehealth is a powerful extension of the trust that already exists between a doctor and their patient – and that leveraging telehealth to better manage patient health and well-being is an effective way to deliver care,‖ said Dr. Roy Schoenberg, CEO, American Well. “Bon Secours is taking a leading position by using telehealth to extend high-quality, trusted healthcare into the communities they serve. We are proud to have the opportunity to work with such a caring, compassionate and innovative organization.‖

American Well is a national leader in telehealth software and services and works with leading health plans, private employers, health systems, government agencies, and retailers to make care more affordable, accessible and consumer-friendly.”

Open the app or a browser, and a few minutes later, you can talk via video with a licensed health care provider, and even get a prescription sent electronically to your local pharmacy,” says Marlon Priest, MD, BSHSI chief medical officer.

Bon Secours 24/7™ visits are $49 and may be covered by health insurance. In-app credit card payment makes it convenient. The Bon Secours 24/7™ app is available for Apple and Android devices and can be downloaded for free from the App or Google Play stores, or by accessing
