Avizia Announces Appointment of New Chief Medical Information Officer

Alan Pitt M.D. to guide Avizia in developing and launching new products, applications, and peripheral devices targeting the telemedicine industry.

May 13, 2014, Reston, VA-Avizia, a leading telemedicine technology provider, today announced the appointment of a new Chief Medical Information Officer, Dr. Alan Pitt, who is serving as a professor of Neuroradiology at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, one of the country’s premier centers for excellence in neuroscience. Dr. Pitt holds degrees from Stanford University and the University of Arizona, and completed postgraduate work in internal medicine, neurology, radiology and neuroradiology.

For the past 20 years, Dr. Pitt has worked with technology and medicine, seeking ways to bridge gaps in today’s fragmented care system by placing patients in front of the right caregiver when they need it most.

Dr. Pitt is the current healthcare representative for the Digital Arizona Council, a group organized by Arizona’s CIO, an Adjunct Professor for the ASU College of Nursing and Health Innovation, and the University of Arizona College of Public Health in Phoenix. He’s also a regular speaker at the state and national level on issues related to patient engagement and technology.
