BOSTON, MA – American Well announced it is waiving visit fees for people in Texas and Louisiana affected by Hurricane Harvey. People in need of immediate assistance can see a doctor on demand from the Amwell app, for both medical needs and psychological counselling in the wake of the disaster using coupon code HARVEY until at least September 15th.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to people affected by Hurricane Harvey,” said Peter Antall, MD, Chief Medical Officer at American Well. “Telehealth can provide immediate medical assistance to those who cannot access care, due to flooding. In addition, the Amwell app provides access to counseling help for those who are facing significant loss due to the storm.”
Clinical services on Amwell are provided by American Well’s clinical affiliate, Online Care Group.
