RealMed and American Well Join Forces to Expedite Online Care Integration Into Health Plans’ Financial Systems
Indianapolis, IN and Boston, MA — April 15, 2009 — RealMed and American Well™ today announced that they have entered into a collaboration agreement to bring together capabilities provided by RealMed’s revenue cycle management services and American Well’s Online Care system. The joint capabilities will offer health plans a turnkey solution for integrating Online Care into their financial systems.
“Our collaboration with RealMed will create enhanced business efficiencies and we expect it to further facilitate the introduction of Online Care into key payer and provider markets,” said Ido Schoenberg, M.D., CEO of American Well Corporation.
RealMed’s revenue cycle management service integrates with physicians’ practice management systems and offices to facilitate diverse, multi-payer, HIPAA compliant electronic submissions. American Well’s Online Care system enables live, on-demand communication between the health plan’s membership and its network physicians. The joint offering will streamline the incorporation of Online Care services into the health plan’s financial infrastructure, delivering lower cost of deployment, shorter time to market and simplified Online Care benefit administration.
“Our domain expertise in automating all aspects of revenue cycle management is a natural fit for the new and rapidly growing market of Online Care services.
